Voting Resource #1
New York offers in-person early voting before the official Election Day. This lets you vote early at a designated early voting location in your county.
Early Voting Period:
Saturday, June 13 through Sunday, June 21, 2026
Early voting is the same as voting on Election Day—your ballot is secret, scanned, and counted just like everyone else’s

Primary Election Day:
Tuesday, June 23, 2026
Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. statewide.
This primary is part of New York’s closed primary system. Only voters registered with a political party can vote in that party’s primary (for example, you must be a registered Democrat to vote in the Democratic primary).
You will vote on:
State Assembly seats (including the 68th AD)
State Senate seats
U.S. House seats
Statewide offices (governor, comptroller, attorney general)
Candidates chosen in this primary will appear on the general election ballot in November.

Request Your Mail Ballot (Early or Absentee)
New York State now lets any registered voter request a mail ballot (called an early mail ballot) without a reason. You can also request a traditional absentee ballot if you prefer that option.
